Renew/Reactivate/Inactive
Licenses expire on September 30th. Please check your license for your expiration date. Approximately 90 days before the expiration date of the license, licensees will be sent an email about renewal.
To renew, licensees must have the required 30 hours of continuing education hours (these are pro rated for the first renewal). These hours must include 2 hours in suicide and 3 hours in ethics.
At the time of renewal a licensee can renew at Inactive status if they will not be practicing. To renew at an Inactive Status CE does not need to be completed.
If your license has been expired for over two years, the license cannot be renewed. You will need to reapply for licensure under the current requirements.
Rule Amendment 20 CSR 2263-2.031
Effective October 30, 2024 a license that has been expired or revoked for two years or more can no longer be renewed. The licensee will be required to reapply for licensure under the regulations in effect at the time of reapplication.
