ASBOG NATIONAL EXAMINATION DATES:
All of the examinations are tentatively scheduled as follows:
- Fundamentals of Geology - 8:00am until 12:00noon
- Principles of Geology - 1:00pm until 5:00pm

Licensure and Examination Presentations: The Board has initiated a program to inform prospective graduates of the process to become a Registered Geologist, as well as the examination registration process. The Executive Director and several Board members have visited many schools across the state and made presentations on both processes. If you would like to have one of these presentations on your campus, please contact our office.
Exam Registration Process: To register to take either the Fundamentals of Geology or Practice of Geology portions of the National Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG) National Examinations, please click on the link below. If you would like to obtain a copy of the Missouri Board of Geologists Registration Practice Act and Rules, please send our office an e-mail providing your name, address and what you are request. Please visit that ASBOG website in order to obtain a copy of the ASBOG's Professional Geologist's "Candidate Handbook".
NOTE: To become a Geologist Registrant in Training (GRIT), it is necessary to have completed a degree and pass the Fundamentals Examination. To become a Registered Geologist (RG), it is necessary to pass both the Fundamentals and Practice examinations.

These organizations have developed courses and study materials designed to assist the recent graduate and those who have been practicing for a number of years, to prepare for the ASBOG examination.
