ASWB EXAMINATION INFORMATION:
The State Committee of Social Workers will be discussing the matter of individuals being allowed to set for the ASWB exam prior to graduating at their December 17, 2020 meeting. At this time eligibility is not being approved prior to graduation until it is determined what actions the Committee needs to take with the ASWB to request such an exception request and to promulgate any regulations that may need to be done.
The State of Missouri social worker statutes require an individual to be licensed clinically if providing clinical services in the state. If the client is in Missouri at the time the services are provided, the professional must be licensed here.
2021 RENEWAL CYCLE INFORMATION
The State Committee for Social Workers voted that for ONLY the 2021 renewal cycle, the 15-hour limit of correspondence courses have been waived. All licensees will still be required to do the required hours of continuing professional education, but these hours can be any combination of live programs, webinars and correspondence courses and other approved methods. Other hourly limits for credits for publications, etc. remain in place. Do not forget that you are now required to complete 2 hours in suicide along with your required 3 hours in ethics.
Go to the Continuing Education link and then to the Providers and Courses reporting CE to the Committee. Licensees will be able to track the CE they obtained from these providers if they fill out the CE consent form.
