Land Surveyors in Training

If you have met the Missouri requirements and PASSED the FS examination, you will need to make application with the Board for enrollment as a land surveyor-in-training. Taking and passing the FS examination does not guarantee that your application for enrollment as a land surveyor-in-training or future PLS examination application will be approved. Please read the following instructions and then make application via the link at the bottom of the page.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENROLLMENT AS A LAND SURVEYOR - IN - TRAINING
All applicants for enrollment as a Land Surveyor-in-Training must have successfully completed the NCEES Fundamentals of Surveying examination; complete (and be approved by the Board) the Land Surveyor-in-Training application as well as meeting the qualifications defined in Section 327.312-Revised Statutes of Missouri.
Please note that the application must be TYPEWRITTEN.
An incomplete application will not be processed.
An application for enrollment as a Land Surveyor-in-Training shall be accompanied by the following documents.
- An original official transcript of grades with an impression of the school's seal. Photostatic copy of diploma or record of grades is not acceptable. Proof of high school graduation is required if you are not a college graduate.
- Three letters of reference filled out and enclosed (one professional reference and two personal references.) DO NOT name your relatives, members of this Board or references used in "Part IV - Professional Experience". PLEASE NOTE: Reference letters will not be accepted if they are dated more than 6 months prior to acceptance of application for filing.
- The $10 application filing fee in the form of a check or money order payable to the Missouri Board for Professional Land Surveyors. Do not send cash.
- Copy of examination result notification evidencing successful completion of the Fundamentals of Surveying Examination. (Notification of examination result which you received from NCEES.)
In accordance with Board Rule 20 CSR 2030-6.010, application filing fees are non-refundable.
We do not accept applications by fax or e-mail. An application must reflect your original signature.
