Policies

Policies on Client References

It shall be the policy of the Council that all client references shall verify commercial interior design experience and should describe a specific commercial project performed by the applicant.

Client references will not be accepted from prior employers, if the employer is providing a business/employment verification form.

The Council will not accept different reference forms (client, industry or business verifications) from the same individual.

Policies on Industry References

It shall be the policy of the Council that all industry references shall verify commercial interior design experience and should describe a specific commercial project performed by the applicant.

Industry references may not be from individuals at the applicant's current place of employment. Current co-workers / employers will not be accepted as industry references.

Industry references include furniture suppliers, contractors, manufacturer representatives, etc.

Industry references must provide verification of projects completed for commercial/public spaces

Policies on Business Verifications

It shall be the policy of the Council that all business verifications shall verify the diversified and appropriate commercial interior design experience of the applicant.

Policy on Exam Verifications

It shall be the policy of the Council that exam verifications must come from NCIDQ. Exam verifications forwarded by the applicant will not be accepted.

Policy on Continuing Education

Registered Commercial Interior Designers who are initially registered less than one year prior to renewal are not required to complete continuing education for their first renewal. After this renewal, registrants must complete one unit (10 hours) of continuing education every two years.

Registered Commercial Interior Designers who are initially registered one year or more prior to their first renewal shall be required to complete a minimum of one-half unit (5 hours) of continuing education. After this renewal, registrants must complete one unit (10 hours) of continuing education every two years prior to renewal.
