Board of Accountancy
Notice of Changes Affecting CPAs from 2011 Legislative Session
Senate Bill 325 requires the Missouri State Board of Accountancy to notify a Certified Public Accountant's employer of record of any change in the CPA's license or disciplinary status.
In addition, an employer may provide the board with a list of current licensed employees and make a request in writing to be notified upon a change in the licensing status of any licensed employee. This will ensure the board has the most current employer of record assigned to a licensee. The board is not required to determine the current employer of any person whose license is disciplined or who no longer possesses a valid license.
The board's first notification mailing will be sent to employers of individuals who failed to renew their licenses when they expired on September 30, 2011. Unless the board is contacted and the CPA license is renewed, the board will notify all employers of record by February 28.
As a courtesy to former licensees, the board will also notify, in writing, those who failed to renew their licenses when they expired on September 30, 2011.
